Dubsado vs Honeybook: The Ultimate Debate

In the world of CRMs for creative entrepreneurs, the ultimate debate usually seems to come down to Dubsado vs Honeybook.

Which one should you use for your business? Of course, the answer is…it depends… 🤷‍♀️

There are several things to think about before you decide which platform will work best for you. Here are some general notes and things to consider when making your choice.

User Interface

Honeybook has a much simpler interface and is therefore easier to set up than Dubsado. BUT Dubsado is far more customizable. There’s lots of room for growth even if you’re not ready for all the bells and whistles up front. Once you sign up for Dubsado, you’re locked into your rate for the duration of your subscription. Plus, they’re constantly adding new features without new costs!

External Integrations

Honeybook is limited as far as the external integrations go. They ONLY sync with Gmail for emails, Google calendar for appointments, and they do not have direct integrations with any video conferencing platforms (although you can manually add a link). This might be just fine for you if you only use Google products anyway. But if you want to use anything else (like iCal, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.), you’re probably better off with Dubsado (like me, for example…I’m an Outlook girl… ).

Workflows

Honeybook is also more limited on the workflow actions and triggers they have available when compared to Dubsado. You don’t have the ability to make any manual edits to a workflow once it’s been applied to a project. To me, this is a big deal. I often go into my Dubsado workflows and tweak my canned emails and form templates before they get sent. This allows me to give them that extra personal touch that keeps clients engaged and feeling like I’m a human being!

Price

Honeybook does have a cheaper Starter subscription ($9/month as of the time of this writing) that is limited to your first $10,000 in transactions. But once you outgrow that you’ll be paying $39/month for their unlimited version. Dubsado’s full-featured-from-the-start rate of only $35/month makes it a better deal in the long run. Plus, if you happen to snag it during one of their big sales that typically run in February, July, and November each year, you could be paying even less.

Bottom Line

So what’s the bottom line in the Dubsado vs Honeybook debate? Obviously, I’m Team Dubsado because I love having a full-featured platform that allows me to customize just about anything I want. But maybe you prefer something simple and you’re just not ready to invest in all the features yet so Honeybook may be fine for you. Either way, automating your business with ONE of these platforms is definitely something I’d recommend!
